The Universal Story Solution
A Workshop For Every Writer, Every Stage, Every Time
January 10 at 11 AM CST
9 AM PST | 6 PM CET | 10:30 PM IST | 4:00 AM AEDT (Jan 11)
Replay Available
This is the year you stop spinning your wheels and start writing your book.
But here's what no one tells you:
Before you outline your plot, develop your characters, or write a single scene, you need to know what your story is really about.
Not the convoluted plot you share when your aunt asks how your writing's going—the deeper truth your story reveals about the world and how to live in it.
This truth is your point, and it's the one thing that will guide every decision you make as you write.
Without it, you'll get lost in endless revisions, flummoxed about which plot threads belong, and doubtful your story is even working.
In the Universal Story Solution Workshop, you'll:
Discover the three questions that unlock your novel's true heart
Work through exercises to craft your own story-guiding point
Watch me live coach writers to transform vague ideas into powerful, book-worthy statements
Whether you're starting with a blank page or tackling the manuscript you've been wrestling with for years, this workshop gives you the universal story solution—the compass that will help you write a book that actually says something.
Because 2026 is the year you stop spinning your wheels and start showing up for the story only you can tell.

Your stories—especially if you're

neurodivergent, disabled, fat,
or any other identity that makes the status quo squirm—
aren't just creative expressions,
they're seeds of the future we're fighting for.
By the end of this workshop, you'll have:
The one or two sentence point that captures what your story is really about, giving you a compass for every writing decision you make
┈ Your Novel's True North ┈
┈ The Three Questions ┈
A simple framework you can return to again and again whenever you feel lost in your story

Writing as an Act of Hope & Resistance
Writing the World We Need:
Whether you’re writing a contemporary novel that challenges white supremacy or a feel-good escape into another world, this workshop is for any writer who cares about making the world more peaceful, equitable, just, and safe.
Together, we’ll explore:
The Quiet Book Revolution: Why stories are powerful enough to terrify tyrants, even if you’re writing the next Bridgerton (hint: stories literally rewire brains for empathy)
Rooting in Your Purpose: Reconnecting with the fire in your belly and the vision only you can bring to the story you need to tell
Story as Sacred Ground: How your perspective isn't just "representation"—it's essential medicine for a sick world
The World Our Stories Will Build: Crafting a collective vision that captures not just what we're writing against, but what we're writing toward
Plus, you'll find a community of writers who get what you're going through. Because this journey is too damn hard to walk alone, and collective joy is its own form of resistance.
This workshop is for you if:
You're a writer from a marginalized community feeling frozen by gestures broadly at everything
You’re a writer who doesn’t hold a marginalized identity but cares about those who do
You want your writing to be both a shelter for yourself and a beacon for others
You need to reconnect with your purpose without burning out
You're questioning whether your funny YA matters when people are literally fighting for basic rights
You're tired of feeling alone in your creative struggle
This is NOT for you if you:
Think woke culture is ruining literature (or anything else)
Believe marginalized voices get too much attention
Are looking for craft advice rather than heart medicine and soul fuel
Are uncomfortable with radical honesty, discussions about systemic oppression, or fucking curse words
Hi, I'm Dani Abernathy
I believe stories can change the world, one reader at a time. Not in some vague, hopeful way—but in a concrete, scientifically-backed way that actually rewires human brains for empathy.
As an Enneagram teacher and book coach, I help deep thinkers and feelers recognize that they are the roots of their story, because every element grows from who they are. Your book can only be as healthy as you are, which is why this work goes deeper than words on a page.
I’m pan, non-binary, neurodivergent, and have recurrent major depression. I'm not going to bullshit you: I'm scared. But you give me hope. You, who don’t fit into the mold they made for you. Who refuses to believe this is the only way things can be. Who just want everyone to be happy and safe and free.
That’s why I’m more determined than ever to support people as they write brave stories that tell the truth (even in fantasy worlds).
From this workshop you’ll take away a sense of shared purpose, plus practical tools like:
A co-created vision for the future we're fighting to build
An understanding of how your story creates tangible ripples of change
Reconnection to why your specific voice is medicine for readers who need it
A sense of belonging with writers who share your values
A renewed sense of purpose that honors your activism and your need for rest
Hear From Writers
You don't need to write a political manifesto to change the world. You only need to write the truth, your truth, so your reader can feel seen and can see others.
