We use a sliding scale because capitalism sucks and everyone deserves the opportunity to be part of our community. Our sliding scale is resistance against oppressive systems and a way to show care for one another.

When you pay what you can—especially when you can pay more—you're actively creating the world we're all fighting for.

If you're well-resourced: Paying at or above the suggested amount isn't just generosity—it's putting our shared values into practice. You're directly funding a space where BIPOC writers, queer writers, disabled writers, and other marginalized voices can tell their stories without financial barriers. Your investment is literally anti-capitalist action, ensuring that storytelling power isn't reserved for those with wealth.

If you're not well-resourced: Pay what you can sustainably afford. Your story matters, and we want you here. You deserve to be in this community regardless of your financial situation.

No matter what you pay, you get the same access to all features at your chosen level. No one will know what you pay except you.

Here’s the thing: the sliding scale only

works when it's truly a community effort.

I know you see $30 a month and think, "What a deal!" And for those who genuinely need that price point, it absolutely is.

But if you're someone who drops $30 without thinking twice—on dinner, on coffee, on the newest hard cover edition of a book you already own two copies of—then paying the suggested amount (or more) is how you help dismantle the systems that keep marginalized voices out of publishing.

When you pay more, you're not just supporting a writing program:

  • Where a disabled writer doesn't have to choose between groceries and getting support for their novel.

Will I get feedback on my story?

In the Community, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions during the monthly Q&A call.

Is this a critique group?

No. You won't be expected to look at anyone else's work, though you’re welcome to exchange chapters with other writers if you’d like.

What if I don't live in the United States?

No problem! Our calls and co-writing sessions accommodate multiple time zones. We have members from around the world.

What times are the calls and co-writing sessions?

Co-writing sessions are offered multiple times per week across different time zones:

  • Mondays at 6:00 p.m. CDT

    • 1:00 a.m. CEST on Tuesdays

    • 9:00 a.m AEST on Tuesdays

  • Tuesdays at 7:00 a.m. CDT

    • 2:00 p.m. CEST

    • 10:00 p.m. AEST

  • Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. CDT

    • 4:00 p.m. CEST

    • Midnight AEST on Fridays

  • Sundays at 2:00 a.m. CDT

    • 9:00 a.m. CEST

    • 5:00 p.m. AEST

The monthly Foundations Q&A, Bonus Trainings, and Coaching Level calls are during one of the following times:

  • Tuesdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. CDT
